It is invigorating to see someone as talented as James, sharing and inspiring his students to push themselves and experience the wonder that is creation …

Clark Cunningham
Director – New York School of Art

Yesterday's class was beyond fabulous. The superb teaching, the
attention, expertise, encouragement you give to each of us;
your beautiful energy which suffuses the room; your paintings everywhere which are sheer delight; the hilarity at certain times; the talent! My God! No wonder we adore being there.

Many, many thanks for everything.

Glenda Rae has entered the world as a songwriter with a stunning velocity. Collaborating with celebrated Canadian pianist /multi-instrumentalist/ composer/ arranger Miles Black, Glenda has penned lyrics and melodies to over one hundred songs, spanning a variety of genres including pop, soul and jazz. Glenda, Miles, and percussionist/producer/engineer Tony Chamberlist have teamed up with internationally acclaimed artist James Picard to create a multi-media extravaganza based on Picard's "Cocktail Series" of watercolour paintings.

Glenda Rae

This collaboration with musicians is not new to Picard who has performed live on stage with a number of musical acts including a live painting performance with composer George Blondheim and the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra at the famed Winspear Centre in Edmonton. Plans for both a Vancouver and New York presentation are in the works along with a DVD/CD of both artwork, music and performances.
